Description :
This Agora session will provide a forum to discuss the future of Cal/Val activities for the Copernicus program. The Copernicus program involves a large range of satellites with different calibration and validation needs. These activities require interactions with many partners, including European Space Agencies (ESA/EUMETSAT), Copernicus services and other European agencies, remote sensing experts from national Space Agencies (European and international) academia and industry, as well as scientific measurement networks.
In the frame of the H2020 project Copernicus Cal/Val Solution (CCVS), discussions have be initiated with all stakeholders to try to improve and optimize Cal/Val activities for the Copernicus program. The session will be an opportunity to present the first outcomes of the project and confront them with a wider audience. The session will address emerging sensor and measurement technologies, improvement of cal/val methods, reference in-situ measurement networks, as well as coordination and organizational aspects.
